Take that, Jack Bauer! I worked a whole 24 hours for the annual “Letters to Santa” event at The Second City. It’s an improv marathon of sorts benefitting families who are less fortunate during the holidays. Last year, it took place during my birthday so I only stayed in spurts. This year, I plowed through along with a few other coworkers and made it until the end.

Highlights included a live Skype performance by Jeff Tweedy from Wilco, free food throughout (I think I downed upwards of 7 PB&J sandwiches…the secret to my longevity), some funny improv moments and the opportunity to participate in a round of “Freeze” during the final minutes, which was capped by a hug from improv great T.J. who kindly said, “Thank you man, you guys don’t get enough credit.”

Perfect…even with this nasty cold I have to show for it after my immune system tanked. See you in 2012?
